This course will cover the diagnosis, stabilisation and management of acute disorders of the feline lower urinary tract. It will focus on urethral obstruction and trauma / rupture of the urethra and bladder. Blocked cats, and cats with urinary tract trauma are commonly seen in veterinary practice and can be very challenging to manage. This course will discuss the stabilisation of affected cats in detail, so that delegates will be confident in managing these animals in practice. The surgical treatment options will also be discussed in detail, including simple repair of bladder rupture, cystostomy tube placement and perineal urethrostomy.
