Penguin House was under exam conditions last week for the very first exams for the Certificate of Veterinary Nursing in Emergency & Critical Care.
11 of the 12 students who formed our very first (& very special!) intake in September 2009, arrived early at Penguin House on Thursday 10th March, looking very stressed and anxious for the first of three exams to take place that day.
Despite their initial nerves the students all appeared to relax a little throughout the day, and completed the two written papers before lunch. They had a little time to relax & enjoy a good hearty lunch, before heading off to finish the final exam of the day, the practical station assessment.
There was a collective sigh of relief when everyone had finished! But most seemed to agree that they were quite pleased with how it went & it was not as bad as they had thought it might be! Before heading off home, everyone enjoyed a piece of yummy cake to no doubt nervously await their results.
The papers are being marked as we speak and we look forward to being able to announce our first successful receipients of the Cert VN ECC award very shortly :)
The next intake is due to start on the 1st April 2011 and we have our biggest intake yet with 38 students registered! Meanwhile our second intake which began in March 2010 are just completing their final assessments and should be ready to sit their final examinations in September 2011.
We are now accepting applications for the September 2011 intake. So if you would like to find out more about the Cert VN ECC you can find more information on our website at www.vets-now.com/vets/cpd-training/ or you can chat to existing & other prospective students on the Cert VN ECC forum in the student zone of vetecc.

Well done all who took the inaugural course and exam- for being brave enough to be the guinea pigs. Being such a part of the woodwork at vets now I personally think it is amazing to see the way the nursing team across vets now have developed since vets now started up - and it is great that you can now be recognised for your undoubted ability at what you do :-)
